Coffee Catch Up

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d hand you a baby before we even sat down because my boys are my entourage these days, but always love cuddling with someone new.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how excited I am to be featured over on Whimsical September’s Saturday Sit-Down Series.  I’d gush about how much I love her blog and how I hope one day someone will feel the same way about this blog.

If we were having coffee, I’d probably whip out my phone to show you these pictures of our Mommy and Me session because I’m in love with how they turned out.  I’d confess that Elizabeth and I had a really hard week with a lot of melt downs and tears (from both of us), but these pictures help me focus on how sweet she really is.  I’ll probably need you to remind me that “this too shall pass” and if you’re the praying type, I’d ask for extra prayers for patience with my sweet two year old.  (Photo cred: Brea McPherson Photography)

If we were having coffee I’d brag about how well the boys have been sleeping this week. We put them in their cribs last Sunday night and they’ve been sleeping 9-3/4 am which is a solid 6 hour chunk and I couldn’t be happier. But I’d also tell you that despite the boys sleeping better, I’ve still been up at night worrying about finding a house out in Boston where Don will (hopefully) be attending grad school.  It’s so expensive and overwhelming to look for houses long-distance.

If we were having coffee, I’d ask you for parenting advice.  Elizabeth got bitten at a Parent and Me morning on post.  I would probably cry because the mom guilt is real – how did she get bitten TWICE when I was right there?  My sweet girl never cries or fights back and I don’t know how to explain to her that she needs to yell “NO” and tell someone when someone hurts her.  I would also tell you how thankful I am that it didn’t break the skin and that it only looked this bad for a few hours.

If we were having coffee, I tell you about our girls’ night on Friday night.  One of our “squad” is moving to North Carolina this month so we had one last hoorah.  I will miss her and her family dearly.  I would also tell you that I suck at staying out late.  I was home in bed by 10pm…the rest of the girls got home around 1 am.

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

    1. That would be so helpful! Even if they could point me in the direction of some good cities to live around Boston, or good realtors!

  1. This post spoke to me in so many ways! We are also deep in the middle of the two year old meltdown stage and it takes patience and prayer every day. Your post on Erica’s blog was great;-) and I think you and I have the reverse- I have three year old twins and two year old baby. It’s a challenge every day, but it really, really does get easier. 🙂

    1. I’m so glad to hear that it gets easier, some days are just so stinking tough. But I just keep saying “this too shall pass” and try to find the small joys. Good luck to you mama!
